Our Story
In March 2020, WorkEQ Founder, Jodi Roth-Saks was just five months into her new role as the Executive Director of a hunger relief organization when the world shut down. Instead of closing up shop, they doubled down—serving 3,400 families food and the essentials during one of the most uncertain times in modern history.
What kept the organization afloat? A team of remarkable employees, including several Gen Z and young millennial standouts who brought fresh energy, new technology, and unique perspectives to the work. They were driven, innovative, and adaptable—true rockstars. But as they moved on to new opportunities, she noticed how difficult it was to replace them. Conversations with industry leaders confirmed what she was seeing firsthand, a growing skills gap in the workforce. The missing piece? A blend of workplace etiquette training and onboarding, coupled with executive function (EF) coaching.
With over 20 years of experience in higher education administration and non-profit leadership, Jodi founded WorkEQ to help bridge that gap. She began coaching college students and capable young adults struggling to translate their potential into real-world success.
Through executive function coaching, workplace onboarding trainings and workshops, we teach the skills that truly matter: critical thinking, organization, planning and prioritization, emotional intelligence, self-evaluation, time management, task initiation, and problem solving. These 21st-century competencies help young professionals find their footing in college and career and help employers strengthen their talent pipelines.
